Despite many distortions it has undergone during history the Torah still has verses concerning the Resurrection. The Gospel came to restore the corruptions in the Torah and affirm what had remained intact in it.

However it could not remain exempt from distortions; not long after Jesus’ departure from this world about three hundred Gospels appeared and were circulated which contradicted one another in many ways. Despite the ongoing distortions in succeeding centuries still there are passages in the Gospels about the Resurrection and the Hereafter. To cite examples:

Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Rejoice and be glad because great is your reward in heaven (Matthew from the 5th chapter).

Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come but woe to the man through whom they come! If your hand or your foot causes you to sin cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life aimmed or crippled than to have two hands and two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to sin gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell (Matthew. 18:7-9).
